Workshop on Animal Ethics Policies

The Animal Ethic Policy Committee (AEPC) is established to undertake a task in drafting the IIUM Animal Ethics Policies for approval by the related authorities and subsequently to advice the university on the setting up of a proper Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) in IIUM. In discussing and devising the policy and to optimize the presence of the experts, the committee would like to take an opportunity to organize a workshop cum an awareness program for university’s members on animal ethics policy issues.
The workshop will invite the experts that have knowledge and experience as well as an authority in the field to give input and enlighten not only to the AEPC member but others especially academia, researchers and postgraduate students that actively involved in the animal researches.

Microscope Application & Maintenance Course

microscope1The course is on maintenance and servicing of microscopes. This course will be held from 6 - 7 June 2009 at 8:30 am at Seminar Room 7, Level 3, Kulliyyah of Medicine, IMC, Kuantan. It is compulsory for all MLTs to attend. Lecturers and Science Officers are cordially invited to the opening ceremony by HOD Basic Medical Sciences. Among the tentative programme: The introduction to virtual slide system and concept, introduction of live cell imaging solution supporting research requirement in the areas of GFP research, cell 3D structure studies and time lapse imaging. Hands-on sessions will be held on the second day. This includes microscope dis-assembly, cleaning and assembly procedures. Welcome all!
