5 Practical and Proven Ways to Drive Traffic to Your New Online Store

by Tara Fleming

You have probably heard stories about new businesses closing down just after a few months of launch and although that is quite true, there are some things that you can do to prevent that from happening.
Now, you might think that a physical store is hard to manage, but that isn’t the case. Since people are not going to be able to see your physical store, online shops are harder to manage- especially when it comes to attracting customers.
But today, I am going to give you some proven ways you can drive more traffic to your new online store after you manage to develop ecommerce website.

Provide Free Samples to Influencers

Instagram is quite a massive social media platform with plenty of these so-called ‘Influencers’. Basically, they are people with a large following and anything that they will promote, you can expect that their followers (at least some of them) would buy for themselves.
If you sell some products, it would be a great idea for you to provide some free samples to some of the Instagram influencers. Find some influencers that are closely related to your niche so that they are going to want to promote your product.

Collaborate with Some Bloggers and Some People from the Press

There are also a lot of bloggers and vloggers out there that are willing to get some partnerships and sponsors as well. You can go to a platform like Youtube, for example, and use the search bar with the search terms that best resemble your niche.
From there, you should be able to find some content creators that are willing to promote your brand so provide them with something as an incentive as well.

Go to Reddit

I think it is safe to say that the vast majority of people who go online also go to Reddit. I mean, if you use the appropriate search terms, you will find just about anything on the platform.
That being said, you may want to browse the /Entrepreneur subreddit. It has plenty of subscribers and you will gain some valuable insight as to how things go and how to improve your chance of attracting customers to your online store.

Ask Your Friends and Family to Share

Your friends and family should also be there for you as well. Ask them to help spread the word and let them promote it themselves.
Of course, as a courtesy, you should also be providing them with freebies as well. This is to let them know firsthand how your products work and feel so that they can better share their experience with their peers.

Use Twitter to Your Advantage

One social media platform you should definitely use is Twitter. The platform has a massive following and people use it on a regular basis.
What you want to do is to look out for some influential people in your niche and then follow them on Twitter. This will invariably give you exposure which would then allow you to gain more customers in the process.
